Center Introduction

Hello, This is professor Sungsoo Kim
Director of the Center of Future Cultural Convergence.
The center was established to systemize K-Culture through interdisciplinary convergence research between humanities and sociology and seek its utilization as a diplomatic resource.
The center was selected as a beneficiary of a funded program by Hanyang University called ‘Hanyang Humanities Enhancement Center (HEC)’ in March 2022, and has been conducting research ever since. It is a composition between Institute for Euro-African Studies, Contemporary Cinema Research Institute, and Future Society Research Institute, which are all affiliated with Hanyang University as research institutes.
The center focuses on semiotic productivity of Korean video narrative and is researching about the relation between social discourse and video. We strive for a systemization of K-Culture and sustainable diffusion strategy through analysis of the effect of social discourse on video making process and the effect of video on structuring of social discourse.
We believe this would contribute to the production of both social and universal values and will put our endeavor towards the systemization of K-Culture and providing suggestions for its direction.
We ask for your interest and support. Thank you.
Center of Future Culture Convergence Director, Sungsoo Kim
