    Curriculum at Center of Future Cultural Convergence

    With the advent of the hyper-connected era, Korean culture is gaining massive interest on a global scale.
    Over-the-top (OTT) platforms and Social Network Services(SNS) became the background for the rapid spread of K-Pop and video content, and now the global interest is expanding towards general cultural content of Korea such as food, fashion, literature, and traditions.
    The Center of Future Cultural Convergence Center seeks to foster experts on Arts and Culture policies who can analyze and develop policies that can sustainably develop and expand Korea’s cultural content in the flow of ever-changing hyper-connected era.
    Understanding Cultural Content To understand the term "cultural content," it is necessary not only to grasp its cultural elements but also to comprehend various genres, analyze the industry ecosystem, and pay attention to the differences that emerge across cultural regions. This involves an introductory exploration of various aspects surrounding cultural content, including its definition and history, types and current status, industry ecosystem, promotion policies, prototypes and transformations, plots and storytelling, platforms, and social media. The goal is to understand the economic, political, and cultural value of cultural content in modern society and to explore ways to utilize it effectively .
    Arts & Culture and Social Discourse Cultural and artistic content often reflects historical events of the time and contemporary issues, which serve as a context. This context influences not only the content but also the genre, production mediums, and methods of consumption. This course focuses on analyzing various cultural and artistic content, such as films and dramas, within social and cultural contexts, aiming to understand the relationship between cultural arts and social discourse.
    Research on culture and arts in the hyper-connected era The introduction of Smart devices and Social Network Services have also changed how Cultural and Art contents are received. The global diffusion and resonance of Korean Cultural and Art contents is a prime example of how recipience of Cultural and Arts contents have changed in the Hyper-Connected Era. This lecture researches the meaning behind how Culture and Art is received in the Hyper-Connected Era and how it is reproduced in order to foster an expert’s viewpoint on the diffusive direction of Cultural and Arts contents.
    K-Culture and Diffusion of Korean Culture(Hallyu) The topic explores the global emergence of Korean culture (K-Culture) and the spread of the Korean Wave (Hallyu). It examines the process through which Korean culture has established itself as a global phenomenon, focusing on case studies of diverse content such as music, drama, film, games, and cuisine. Additionally, it analyzes the factors contributing to Hallyu's success, along with its cultural, economic, and social impacts. By situating Hallyu within global cultural trends, it seeks to explore its future potential. Through this, the aim is to cultivate an understanding of the power of K-Culture and strategies for its sustainable growth.
